I went to the University of Louisville for undergrad. Spent four years there and then I got accepted to their dental school and spent another four years there, and I also did a residency for general practice at the University of Kentucky for a year.
It taught me a lot of skills that you don’t get in dental school. Sedation was one of them, more experience with extractions, root canals, that kind of thing and just being able to treat an underserved population on a daily basis.
I’ve done some continuing education in sedation dentistry for root canals, and I plan to do a lot more, particularly in maybe implants in the future, Invisalign, those kind of things, to help offer more services to my patients.
The most rewarding part of dentistry is getting someone out of pain who has been suffering a lot and they have nowhere else to turn, so they come here, they come to Edgewood Dental Care. We want them to know that we’re going to take care of them and make everything better for their life.
