Well, sure. At Edgewood Dental Care, we have a lot of sedation options to cater to anyone that comes in to see us. The first option we normally give people, the easiest option, is nitrous oxide or the laughing gas, which works for many people, but it depends upon your level of anxiety. With nitrous oxide, it’s inhalation, you have to breathe it. Sometimes people are hard doing that when they’re nervous or can’t get things done.
The second one would be a combination of oral pills to relax you plus nitrous oxide. Certain percent of population can do that very comfortably and do a lot of treatment that way. The advantage to that is that it’s a little bit lighter sedation than some of the other ones versus … The next one would be an IV sedation, where you’re basically put out. You’re still conscious sedation. It’s considered a moderate sedation. It’s not a general anesthesia, but that would be for like if you’re taking out wisdom teeth or doing implants or if you’re just phobic. It could be for fillings or even a cleaning for that matter. It depends upon your fear level.
