Prepare Yourself

During a dental emergency, it’s good to know a little oral care first aid. Just like other kinds of first aid, it is good to know what to do in the event of a problem.

With a broken tooth, you should rinse the tooth and wipe away any blood. It’s also important to cover the tooth, since it can have sharp edges that could cut into the soft tissues of your mouth.

With a dislodged tooth, you want to find it if at all possible. You will want to clean it and rinse your mouth. When the bleeding has stopped, you can try to place the tooth back in its socket. Don’t force it, however. If it won’t go in, keep the tooth in a container of milk to bring with you to see us. In some cases, it is possible to save the tooth.

If you feel like something it stuck, find some dental floss. You may be able to remove it on your own.

No matter what your dental emergency is, be prepared to call us as soon as you are able.

Ready to Respond to Your Oral Care Problem

We are open six days a week, including Saturdays. We are open until 7 p.m. four nights per week. We also have an after-hours line to put you in touch with a dental professional outside of our regular hours.

When you get to our office, we are prepared to alleviate your pain as soon as possible. We offer dental sedation, including two fast-acting options (laughing gas and IV sedation) to alleviate your pain and prevent you from feeling pain when we work to address your problem.

After dealing with your immediate situation, we also have everything you need to repair your teeth and your oral health. Your dentist will work with you to develop a plan to revive your complete smile.

Then, all you need to do is keep up your oral care routine, including regular cleanings and exams with us.
